Wee LaF for the June 10 Weekend - LaF 151

Next, Now You See Me 2 starring Lizzy Caplan, Mark Ruffalo, Daniel Radcliffe, and Jesse Eisenberg sees the magician team of the Four Horseman reteamed and forced to pull of a heist that will push them to their magical limits. Lastly, Warcraft adds itself to the mix of CGI-Actionfests as it brings the story of the hit computer game World of Warcraft to the big screen. Director Duncan Jones attempts to mix equal parts Avatar and Lord of the Rings to achieve box office success. X-Men: Apocalypse

Wee LaF for the June 3 Weekend - LaF 149

Episode 149 is another weekend entertainment edition of LaF (aka Wee LaF), this time for the June 3rd weekend. Three movies are hitting theaters in wide release. First, Me Before You starring Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin tells the story of a girl who forms a bond, later love, with a newly-paralyzed man. For comedy fans, Andy Samberg stars in Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping a story of Justin Bieber like musician whose new solo album is a complete failure and whose celebrity star begins fading as a result. Lastly, cowabunga Dude! The turtles are back with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, the film is the fifth live-action film for the turtles. The film also marks the first appearance of Kraang, Rocksteady, and Bebop so the turtles will have their hands full dealing with all the villains.

The Nice Guys - LaF 148

Wee LaF 5 for the May 27 Weekend - LaF 147

The LaF podcast is celebrating Memorial Day weekend with episode 147 as our hosts, Richard Lusk and Ryan Bull, preview two new films opening this weekend. First, X-Men: Apocalypse is the fourth film in the franchise from director Bryan Singer. The film throws the X-Men for a loop as they are forced to fight Apocalypse, the world's first mutant and possibly the most powerful. Featuring the talents of Oscar Issac, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, Sophie Turner, and Tye Sheridan, the film boasts the largest cast of superheroes ever in a single movie. Also opening in wide release, Alice Through the Looking Glass is the sequel to 2010's Alice in Wonderland. Mia Wasikowska returns as Alice as she returns to Wonderland to save her friend the Mad Hatter.

Green Room - LaF 146

Richard Lusk and Ryan Bull are excited to review Green Room on episode 146 of LaF. Green Room is director Jeremy Saulnier's follow up film to Blue Ruin, which was LaF's top film of 2014. The film follows a punk band that accidentally stumbles upon a murder caused by some skinheads. Led by Patrick Stewart, the skinheads won't stop until they kill all of the witnesses. Our cohosts have been eagerly awaiting the release of this film ever since it was announced. Tune in to find out if the film met expectations, how to apply a proper rear naked choke, and listen to a debate about whether Jeremy Saulnier is a better director than Jeff Nichols.

Wee LaF for the May 20 Weekend - LaF 145

Box offices releases for the May 20th weekend is the topic for episode 145 of LaF. Ryan Bull and Richard Lusk are back again to preview three new movies coming to theaters. First, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising brings back Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, and Zac Efron for some R-rated comedy. The film argues that the only thing worse than living next to a frat is living next to a sorority. For the kids, The Angry Birds Movie flies into theaters trying to capitalize on the hit video game. The animated film features the vocal talent of Peter Dinklage, Jason Sudeikis, and Kate McKinnon. Lastly, Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe team up in the Shane Black directed comedy The Nice Guys. Also the guys have streaming and rental picks for listeners that are staying at home.

The other superheroes pick sides and get ready for the biggest, baddest knockdown brawl ever. Our hosts also discuss the future of the Marvel franchise, rank this film among other comic book films, and try to figure out if Robert Downey Jr. is getting too old for the series.

Midnight Special - LaF 142

Summer Preview 2016 - LaF 140

Wee LaF for the April 29 Weekend - LaF 139

The film is about a man who believes the dinner party being held by his ex-wife is the start of something horrible for himself and all the other guests. Next, The Huntsman: Winter's War starring Chris Hemsworth, Jessica Chastain, Charlize Theron, and Emily Blunt is the prequel to 2012's Snow White and the Huntsman. In this film, two rival witch queen sister are battling for control of all the lands. Caught in the middle are two warriors who must keep their forbidden love a secret.

Remember - LaF 134

The Atom Egoyan directed film is about an Auschwitz survivor with dementia who goes in search of the Nazi who killed his family seventy years earlier. The film is an interesting exploration of both the cruelty of growing old, and the cruelty that creates the desire for revenge.

Next, Miracles from Heaven is the adaptation of the best selling Christian faith novel of the same name. Based on a true story, the movie is a about a young girl suffering from a rare disease who was miraculously cured after God caused her to fall from a a tree. Lastly, The Bronze starring Melissa Rauch as a foul-mouthed former gymnastic having to deal with no longer being a star.
