Alex Garland makes his directing debut with a story about about a young programmer chosen to participate in a Turing test with an alluring female A.I. named Ava. The question becomes, who is testing whom? Both the L-Train and Mr. Two-Frames have been eager to watch this film, but they are not in agreement about the success of the film. This Nicholas Sparks novel turned movie stars Britt Robertson and Scott Eastwood. Mr. Two-Frames has an Oscar Isaac movie for his Redbox pick to make up for Ex Machina only opening in New York and L.A. The L-Train's Amazon Prime Pick of the Week is another gem from 2014.
