The box office is wide open with four films being released on the October 16 weekend, join us as LaF previews all of them on episode 87. First up, is the Steven Spielberg film Bridge of Spies starring Tom Hanks in the true story of an American lawyer whom the CIA recruits to help negotiate the release of a pilot being held by the Soviet Union. This film is already proving to be a hit with critics. Find out if the L-Train feels it will get nominated for Best Picture.
Also in wide release, is Goosebumps the PG horror film for children that enjoy the book series of the same name. The film stars Jack Black as the young adult horror novelist R. L. Stine, who with the help of two teens(Dylan Minnette & Odeyla Rush) must recapture all of the monsters from the novels after they are accidently set free.
For adult horror fans, Crimson Peak is set to scare you. This haunted house film is directed by horror icon Guillermo del Toro and stars Mia Wasiowska, Jessica Chastain, and Tom Hiddleston. Find out why Mr. Two-Frames is spending his money to see this film.
Finally, Woodlawn opens in just north of 1,500 theaters. This film is based on the true story of a high school football team that found a way to overcome racism and win by giving themselves over to Jesus Christ.
